A, The IMPLEMENTASI PEMBELAJARAN PPKN PADA SISWA KELAS VII SEBAGAI UPAYA PENINGKATAN TOLERANSI DALAM KEBERAGAMAN MASYARAKAT INDONESIA DI SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 8 KEBAKKRAMAT TAHUN AJAR 2022/2023

This study aimed (1) to describe the implementation of Civics learning in improving the character of tolerance. (2) to describe the role of Civics Teachers in forming the character of tolerance. (3) to analyze what difficulties Civics teachers and students experience in thius effort. This research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Kebakkramat. The research subject were shcool principal, vice principals, civic teachers, and students in class VII with total of 11 students. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method with e case study type of research. The data analysis technique used were data reduction, data display, dan data verification. The results of the study show that (1) The teacher did not only teach and provided material but also provided for students to apply, provides motivation, became a mover, and become a mentor and encouraged students to continue to develop good character. (2) The efforts or role of Civics teacher in forming an attitude of tolerance through basic competencies that were in accordance with the Diversity material of Indonesian Society whicg was integrated with the lesson plan. (3) The driving factors and inhibiting factors that could shape the character of tolerance in students in class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Kebakkramat. a) Driving factors: School policy, having a sense of care, and respecting difference. b) Inhibiting factors: Self-interest and picky in making friends.
