Abstract

This research discusses an initiative for training students in initiating and managing academic journals. The main focus is on enhancing students' understanding and skills in managing the process of publishing academic journals. This training is designed to provide insights into the initial steps of starting student journals, including topic selection, content planning, and article structure. Additionally, the training also provides practical guidance on efficiently managing journals using online platforms, such as Open Journal Systems (OJS). The training method involves interactive workshops, group discussions, and hands-on practice sessions to encourage active participation and deep understanding among students majoring in international relations at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta and the Partner University, Universitas Sebelas Maret. The effectiveness of the training is evaluated through pre-test and post-test surveys to measure the increase in students' knowledge and skills. The research results indicate that this training successfully enhances students' understanding and skills in initiating and managing academic journals. The implication is that such training can serve as a strong foundation for developing a culture of academic publication among students and enhancing their contributions to the academic world.
