This study aims to reduce the confusion of ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Tasikmadu in choosing their next level of education through group guidance using the problem-solving approach. This guidance and counseling classroom action research (GC-CAR) was conducted in two cycles with 28 students as subjects. Data were collected using a choice-confusion questionnaire, student activity observation, and interviews. The results revealed that the average confusion score decreased from 82.4 (high category) in the pre-test to 65.3 in cycle I and 51.2 in cycle II. The number of students in the high-confusion category also significantly decreased from 71% to 21%. These findings indicate that group guidance with the problem-solving approach is effective in fostering students’ independence and confidence in making decisions about their future education.
