This study aims to improve the writing skills of descriptive text among seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pakel by using Magic Card as a learning medium. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles with 32 students as participants. Data were collected through writing tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ writing skills. The average score increased from 62 in the pre-cycle to 72 in cycle I, and reached 80 in cycle II. The percentage of students achieving mastery also rose from 40.6% to 87.5%. Magic Card proved effective in enriching vocabulary, improving sentence structure, and enhancing students’ motivation and engagement in the learning process. The study recommends Magic Card as an alternative medium for teaching English writing skills.
