This study aims to foster students’ learning responsibility through the implementation of the problem-solving method. The subjects were 30 eighth-grade students of junior high school. The research employed a classroom action research (CAR) design carried out in two cycles. Instruments included pre-post tests, observation sheets, and field notes. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ responsibility, as reflected in their active participation during group discussions, discipline in completing tasks, and ability to manage study time. The average score increased from 68.4 in the pre-cycle to 78.9 in cycle I and 85.7 in cycle II. These findings indicate that the problem-solving method enhances not only learning outcomes but also the internalization of students’ responsibility. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers apply this method consistently in classroom learning.
