Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of group learning on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kutoharjo, Rembang. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Research instruments included pre–post tests to measure cognitive outcomes and observation rubrics to assess student participation in group discussions. The findings revealed significant improvements, with the average score increasing from 64.3 in the pre-cycle to 81.7 in cycle II. The percentage of mastery learning rose from 42.85% to 92.85%. Moreover, students’ activeness, cooperation, and responsibility within groups improved throughout the process. Thus, group learning proved effective not only in enhancing academic achievement but also in developing students’ social skills.
