This study aims to improve the speaking skills of third-grade students at SDN 1 Majan through the role playing method. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model in two cycles. The subjects were 26 students. Data were collected through speaking tests, observations, and interviews, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed an increase in average speaking scores from 60.2 (pre-cycle) to 72.5 (cycle I) and 82.8 (cycle II). Significant improvements occurred in fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, and coherence. In addition, students demonstrated greater self-confidence, willingness to speak, and teamwork skills. The role playing method is effective for interactive and engaging speaking instruction in primary schools.
