Abstract. This research aims to improve the ability to write descriptive text of class VI students at SD Negeri 3 Besuki through the use of image media. Learning to write descriptive texts has experienced obstacles, especially in terms of student motivation and understanding. The method used in this research was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and descriptive writing tests. The research results show that the use of image media significantly improves students' writing skills, both in terms of text structure, vocabulary and creativity in composing paragraphs. Learning completeness increased from 43% in pre-cycle to 90% in cycle 2. Thus, image media can be used as an alternative learning to improve students' writing skills.
