Abstract. The ability to write in English is an important skill that is still a challenge for junior high school (SMP) students, especially in writing
descriptive texts. This study aims to improve the writing skills of class VII students using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. This method is applied through project-based learning which encourages students to think critically and work collaboratively in completing writing assignments. The research results show that this approach is effective in improving students' writing skills, both in terms of text structure, vocabulary and confidence in writing.
