UPAYA PENYIDIK KEPOLISIAN DALAM MENGUNGKAP MODUS OPERANDI TINDAK PIDANA PERJUDIAN DI WILAYAH HUKUM POLRES PEKALONGAN

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the efforts of police investigators in uncovering the modus operandi of gambling crimes in the jurisdiction of the Pekalongan Police. Reviewing and analyzing the obstacles experienced by police investigators in uncovering the modus operandi of gambling crimes in the jurisdiction of the Pekalongan Police.
The police are one of the government agencies that have an important role in the state of law. The success of the police in crime prevention must be required on the integrality of various approaches, which can be broadly divided into a penal approach, through the application of criminal law and non-penal efforts, that is, countermeasures policies without the application of criminal law, but instead focused on various social policies.
The method of approach in this writing is sociological juridical. The specifics of this study used descriptive analytics. Data sources use primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques use interview studies and document studies. To analyze the data, researchers use qualitative analysis methods.
The efforts made by the Pekalongan Police Police Investigator in uncovering the modus operandi carried out by the perpetrators of gambling crimes include making preventive and repressive efforts. Preventive efforts are carried out by providing counseling to the community by socializing and counseling people who do not understand the negative impacts of gambling, while repressive efforts are carried out by investigating and seeking information from the community about areas that are alleged to be places prone to criminal gambling, conducting operations or raids in crowded places. The obstacles experienced by the Pekalongan Police Investigator in uncovering the modus operandi of gambling crimes, including: there are still many people who like gambling, lack of concern and community participation in providing information about gambling, the neater the modus operandi carried out by the perpetrators of gambling crimes, the limited or lack of personnel to carry out operations and raids and coupled with the lack of support of facilities owned by the police.
