Abstract
One of the core issues is that transporting loads that exceed permitted limits can cause various problems, including damage to roads, a higher risk of accidents, and damage to transportation infrastructure. Many violations occur due to non-compliance with the rules and regulations regarding the cargo being transported.
The aim of this research is to determine law enforcement regarding violations of goods transport loads on the roads of Surakarta City and to find out the obstacles that arise in law enforcement against violations of goods transport loads on Surakarta City roads.
The research method with a sociological juridical approach emphasizes research that aims to obtain legal knowledge empirically by going directly to the object, in this case, namely to find out law enforcement and the obstacles that arise in violations of goods transport on the roads of Surakarta City.
The results of the research show that law enforcement regarding violations of goods transport loads on the roads of Surakarta City, like most regions, has regulations governing motor vehicle loads that must be followed by drivers and vehicle owners. This includes the maximum permitted load weight, safety requirements, and types of goods that can be transported. Understanding these regulations is the first step in effective law enforcement. The level of public awareness and compliance with cargo regulations plays a key role in preventing violations. The goods transportation industry in the city of Surakarta also has a role in maintaining compliance with cargo regulations. Obstacles that arise in law enforcement regarding violations of goods transport on Surakarta City roads. A lack of law enforcement personnel, limited budgets, and inadequate equipment can hinder the ability to conduct inspections and take action efficiently. Load inspection requires the right equipment, such as a road scale. Limited access to this equipment can be an obstacle in detecting violations. Lack of coordination between various authorities, such as traffic police, traffic authorities, and other related agencies, can cause obstacles in the implementation of law enforcement. The level of public awareness and compliance with cargo regulations can be low. The public may not fully understand or appreciate the importance of cargo regulations.
