Abstract

EFFECTIVENESS OF SYMBOLIC MODELLING TO INCREASE THE LEARNING MOTIVATION OF SMP N 4 WONOGIRI. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of modelling symbolic technique to increaselearning motivation of students SMP N 4 Wonogiri. This research was Quasi Experimental Design with Non equivalent Control Group Design consisting of experimental group and control group. Research subjects of each experimental group and control group amounted to 10 students selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used learn motivation questionnaires. Data analysis was used mann whitney with the help of SPSS 20. Based on the results of the analysis it could be concluded that the Mann-Whitney U test result was 5,000 with significance of 0.000. The significance value was 0.000 which was smaller than 0.05, so there are differences in learning motivation between the experimental group and the control group after treatment. Therefore, it could be concluded that learning motivationservice used modelling symbolic technique was effective to improve learning motivation of the students in SMP N 4 Wonogiri. Conclution of this study was to give an example of symbolic techniques effectively to improve learns’ learning motivation senior high student class 1 of state SMP N 4 Wonogiri.
