Pelatihan Pemanfaatan Limbah Minyak Jelantah Menjadi Lilin Aromaterapi Untuk Ibu-Ibu di Kelurahan Demakijo Kabupaten Klaten

Used cooking oil waste is one of the environmental issues that can have adverse effects on health and ecosystems. This study aims to explore the use of used cooking oil as the main ingredient in the production of aromatherapy candles as an environmentally friendly alternative with economic value. Community service activities were conducted in Demakijo Village, Karangnongko Subdistrict, Klaten Regency, involving mothers from the PKK, Posyandu cadres, and members of the Women Farmers Group (KWT). Through socialization and training programs, participants were provided with an understanding of the risks associated with used cooking oil and the skills to transform it into aromatherapy candles. The results of this activity indicate that the training was successful, as evidenced by the high participation of the participants and their ability to produce candles independently. The aromatherapy candles produced not only serve as room fresheners and stress relievers but also have the potential to be developed into a home-based business. Thus, this activity plays a role in reducing environmental pollution while simultaneously creating opportunities to improve the economic well-being of the community through the development of small-scale businesses based on waste materials.
