Rice (Oryza sativa L) as a major food commodity has a strategic role in national food security. The presence of weeds in rice fields can inhibit the growth of rice plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure of the weed community through the analysis of diversity and dominance in the rice cultivation system. This study was conducted in Panawuan Village with a research method using a split plot design consisting of two factors: the main plot (cultivation system) and four subplots, (weeding frequency) with a randomized block design (RBD). Weed sampling was carried out at the age of 20, 40 and 60 days after planting (DAP). The parameters observed included diversity, dominance, and dry weight of weeds. The results showed that the weed community consisted of 18 species, with Pistia stratiotes L. as the most dominant species with an SDR of 16.97%. The weed diversity index value of 1 < H’ ≤ 3 ranged from 0.65 to 2.52, representing a moderate category, while the dominance index ranged from 0.09 to 0.64, representing a low to high category. The no-till system was shown to have a lower average weed species dominance index. Meanwhile, weed control by weeding 40 days after planting in the no-till system can suppress weed growth.
