Quantitative research with correlation method was applied in this research. The sample for this research was 32 students. The researcher used a questionnaire and a vocabulary test to gather the data. The findings of this study revealed a positive relationship between students' habit of listening to English songs and their vocabulary mastery. It is proven by the results after analyzing the two variables using the Person Product Moment formula, with the results of calculation of r<sub>xy</sub> 0.915 &gt; r<sub>table</sub> in the significant level of 0,05 = 0,349 and also 0,001 = 0.554. As a result, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It indicates that there is a positive correlation between students' habit of listening to English songs and their vocabulary knowledge. This method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, which describes and analyzes the utterances consisting of code mixing and code switching along with the reasons taken from “Layangan Putus” series. The technique of collecting data in this research used non-participant observation and documentation which are in the form of words, phrases, and sentences. To analyze the data, the researcher used qualitative data analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman. The result of this research showed that there were: 170 utterances of code mixing, 246 utterances of code switching, and 74 utterances of reasons used by the characters. Those 170 utterances of code mixing, it had 95 of insertion, 44 utterances of alternation, and 31 utterances of congruent lexicalization. Those 246 utterances of code switching, it had 17 utterances of tag-switching, 173 utterances of intra-sentential switching, and 56 utterances of inter-sentential switching. Those 74 utterances of the reasons, it had 34 utterances of talking about particular topic, 9 utterances of be emphatic about something, 8 utterances of interjection, 9 utterances of repetition used for clarification, and 14 utterances of intention of clarifying the speech content for interlocutor. The research technique applied in this study was a content analysis method<br>that took a qualitative approach. Construction of a checklist, analysis of a textbook, coding,<br>categorization, and interpretation were used to obtain the data. Based on Adaskou, Britten, and<br>Fahsi (1990) statement, cultural dimensions in the textbook derived into four senses: (1) aesthetic<br>sense, (2) sociological sense, (3) semantic sense, and (4) pragmatic sense. Based on the results of<br>data analysis of the kind of Cultural dimensions that appears in the textbook, the </span><span class="fontstyle2">Bahasa Inggris<br>Think Globally Act Locally </span><span class="fontstyle0">textbook for ninth grade in junior high school offered a lot of cultural<br>material. The subject of this study were the eight gradedstudents of Public Junior High School in Central Java. The method study was a ClassroomaActionnResearch. Theestudy was conducteddinntwoocycles. Todcollecttthe data, thedresearcherrusedstest such asdpre-test andppost-test. To analyzedthe data, therresearcher used quantitative datadanalysiscby using mean score. The researcher used a formula proposes by Arikunto (2010) to count the meantscore. The resulttof the research show that textlesstcomictmediascan improvesthe students’tskilltinawritingrrecount texts. The improvements of the students’twriting skill were in composing a logical sequence of ideas. Besides, the improvementoofcthe students’wwriting skillrcan be seen from the students’ writing achievement. The result of meantscore formpre-testkwas 56, in post-tests1, it was 72, and inppost-test 2, it was 77. This research focuses on classifying the function of slang words found in the movie by using the theory of function of slang words proposed by Zhou &amp; Fan (2013). Descriptive qualitative approach was utilized in this research and the data was collected from the movie and the subtitles. The researcher collected the data through watching the movie, reading its subtitles, determining slang words, making notes, and classifying the data. In analyzing data, the researcher implemented interactive model analysis which consisted of four stages of analyzing data; data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The researcher found 85 slang terms uttered by characters from the movie. The purpose of this research is to know kind of interrogative sentences and translation techniques impact to the translation quality in The Terminal movie subtitle. The source of data is the film transcript of The Terminal movie and its subtitle in Indonesian, and the information collected from rater. The technique of data collection was watching the movie, reading the script, and marking the interrogative sentences. In analyzing data, the researcher used the qualitative data analysis which covers domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, and componential analysis. Had been found 114 data, yes-no question (57,97%), wh-question (41,19%), and alternative question (0,87%), 2) the translation technique could be found in The Terminal movie, such as established equivalent (72,08%), variation (15,83%), pure borrowing (3,12%), modulation (2,91%), implicit (1,87%), paraphrase (1,25%), explicit (1,04%), reduction (0,83%), transposition (0,62%), generalization (0,20%), and substitution (0,20%). This research used qualitative case study research to analysis the students’ writing ability in descriptive text using present tense based on the four level type of errors: omission, addition, selection and ordering for the one of vocational high school in West Kalimantan. It was conducted on February 2023. The researcher took 12 students as the sample. The subjects of this research was the the one of vocational high school in West Kalimantan 2022/2023 academic year. To collect the data, the researcher used essay writing test with students. After collected the dataafrom the subjects the researcher analysis the dataaby using error analysis method to analyzed qualitative data. The resultaof thisaresearch showedathat the students level of writing skills in descriptive text using present tense is average. The researcher used the quantitative method. The research gave a questionnaire consisting of 30 items and vocabulary test to gather the data. The finding of this study indicated that there is a positive correlation between students’ motivation in learning English and vocabulary mastery. It is proven by the result of the calculation of rxy 0.556 &gt; rtable in the significance 5% (0.361) and 1% (0.463). Then it could be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is therefore deemed to be accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. In this research, it could be concluded that there is a positive correlation of the research between students’ motivation in learning English and students’ vocabulary mastery. The researcher used qualitative descriptive method. The data from this study comes from “Turning Red” film and the script. In collecting the data, the researcher watched the film, studied the script and the scenes then collected the data by taking notes, the researcher selected and classified the data, put it in the table and verified the data by making conclusion of data findings. To ensure the validity of the data, the researcher used data source triangulation and theory triangulation. The result of this research showed that there are twelve moral values that can be found in “Turning Red” film, such as dishonesty and honesty, courage, peaceability, self-reliance and potential, self-discipline and moderation, fidelity and chastity, loyalty, respect, love, unselfishness and sensitivity, kindness and friendliness, justice and law. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection in the research was listening, watching, reading and taking notes all data from the song. The result of the research showed that in song entitled “Ghost” by Justin Bieber was divided into three aspects, they were socio cultural aspect, grammatical aspect (reference and conjunction) and lexical aspect (repetition and collocation). This means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. The subject of this research was 36 students of X.5 class at a public senior high school in Central Java 2022/2023 academic year. This research was categorized as Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles. The writing test consisted of pre-test and post-tests to collect the data. The test was given to see how far the students enhanced their descriptive writing ability after the treatment. The data were analyzed by using a scoring rubric by Brown (2001). The result showed that the implementation of clustering technique can enhance the student’s ability to generate ideas in writing descriptive text. The mean score of students in the pre-test was 53.44, in post-test 1 was 56.67, and in post-test 2 was 74.305. This research used qualitative descriptive research To describe the students reading comprehension in narrative text based on the four level comprehension skill for eleventh Grade Students of SMA N1 Slogohimo. To collect the data, the researcher used questionnaires and interview with the teacher and students. After collecting the data the researcher analyzed the data by using via data triangulation to analyzed qualitative data. To collect the data of questionnaire and interview, the researcher use questionnaire by Google Form. The data from questionnaire were analysed by using Likert scale. The result of this research showed that the students’ skill in understanding the implicit facts stated in an informational text, characters in a story, and any other information such as facts, vocabulary, times, and locations was quite high. It could be seen from the score distribution obtained by the students. The research showed that the students level of comprehension skills in comprehending narrative text is average. This research is classified as a qualitative research type using a<br>descriptive approach. The data from this study comes from 'Aladdin' Movie (2019) by Guy<br>Ritchie movie and dialogue. Then, in collecting data the researcher used documentation by<br>watching the movie and reading the script. In analyzing data, the researcher used interactive<br>data analysis by Miles and Huberman. To find the research's validity, triangulation data and<br>triangulation source were used to check validation for the data. This study used descriptive qualitative research, using a 2018 textbook published by the Indonesian Ministry of Education. The study was conducted from June to July 2023. . The results showed that there are 9 types of character values, namely religiosity, hard work, creativity, curiosity, appreciation, friendliness, moral values, love to read, social awareness, and responsibility. The frequency of appearance friendliness moral values (64 times), love to read (32 times), social awareness (11 times), creativity and hard work (8 times), appreciation (5 times), curiosity (4 times), and religiosity and responsibility (3 times). These findings highlight the importance of character values in 21st century learning, particularly in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The method used in this research was a Classroom Action<br />Research (CAR). The research was conducted in two cycles. The subject was the students<br />of SMP N 7 Surakarta in 2022/2023 academic year. This research used test and non-test to<br />collecting the data. To analize the data, this research used qualitative data and quantitative<br />data. The qualitative data is consisted of data collection, data reduction, data display,<br />conclusion, and verifying. The quantitative data is consisted of mean score and t-test<br />formula. The result of the research, it can be seen from the mean score of Pre-Test was<br />61.34, Post-Test 1 was 71.21, and Post-Test 2 was 85.28. The t-test value of Cycle I was<br />4.14, and the t-test value of Cycle II was 10.22. The result of the research showed that mind<br />mapping technique can improve the students’ writing skill. It can be seen from the students<br />writing achievement. This study employed a feminist perspective and was descriptive qualitative research. Greta Gerwig's script and direction of the Little Women film served as the basis for the information. Jo March is a young middle-class woman with a tall physique, brown hair, and grey eyes, according to the findings of this study. An ambitious, independent, grumpy, smart, clumsy, and caring individual is how Jo March was described. By proving her independence and capacity for comfortable living without being married to a wealthy man, she defies the stereotype. The<br />research was conducted in two cycles in April 2022/2023 academic year. The research<br />was the 32 students at one of public junior high school in central java in 2022/2023<br />academic year. In collecting the data, the researcher used test and non-test such as<br />observation, interview, and documentation. To analysis data, the researcher used<br />qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The qualitative data analysis method that was<br />used proposed by Miles and Huberman analysis that consisted of data collection, data<br />reduction, data display, and conclusion. To analyze the quantitative data, the researcher<br />used mean score of the test.<br />The result of the research show that pictures series based on local wisdom can<br />improve the students’ developing of ideas in writing narrative texts. The improvement<br />of the students’ writing skill can be seen from the students writing achievement. The<br />result of mean score for pre-test was 55, in post-test 1, it was 64, and in post-test 2, it<br />was 75.
